'Fragrant, bright berries & cherry on 2018 with usual hint of forest floor. Silky richness & sweet fruit balanced by light dry tannins & firm acidity. Altogether poised & refined, with a subtle intensity. Savoury in effect, but with some sweetness on the finish. Also in magnums.' – Platter's Guide, 4.5* (94/100)

'He may be better known for his Chardonnays and Syrahs, but Richard Kershaw is making increasingly impressive Pinot Noirs. Made from a blend of 113, 115, 667 and 777 clones, this is juicy, floral and subtly spicy, with well-handled 20% new wood, 5% whole bunches and summer berry flavours supported by savoury tannins. Drink 2020-25.' – Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2019, 92/100

'The 2018 Pinot Noir Kershaw Clonal Selection Elgin was aged in 21% new oak with 10% in plastic eggs. It has a compact nose, the fruit profile a touch darker than the Hemel-en-Aarde Pinot Noir, hints of lingonberry and pomegranate developing with time. The palate is very well balanced with fine-grained tannins and raspberry and cranberry notes infused with a light pinch of white pepper and sea salt, leading to a beautifully poised finish. A divine Pinot Noir. Drink 2022-2036.' – Neal Martin, Vinous, 92/100 (Apr 2021)

'Captivating floral attributes underscored by purity, focus and freshness framed by fine powder tannins yet cushioned by a succulent texture and flavours of black cherry, pomegranate, rose petal and raspberry.' – Richard Kershaw, Winemaker
