‘From a single vineyard in the Overberg, planted to rocky shale soils and clone PN115. It immediately impresses with a nose like no other: Gentle and slowly evolving, it’s extremely complex with notes of damson, reined in red cherry, earth, and has a thread of savoury interest that weaves through it. Layers of bruised flowers, lavender, violets, crushed leaves, and attractive sandalwood add an almost haunting quality to the bouquet. The perfumed nose is balanced by a granular tannin density, coated with dark cherry and spice. The acidity is fresh and underscored by a lingering, saline end.
