'Classically styled, richly textured 2017 harmonises opulent black fruit, plush tannins & succulent acidity into stately, elegant wine, showing more finesse than 2016 (92 pts). Mainly syrah & cab, 20% mourvèdre, 20 months French oak, 13% new.' – Platter's Guide, 4.5* (93/100)

'43% Shiraz, 37% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Mourvèdre, the latter two varieties undergoing partial whole-bunch fermentation. Matured for 20 months in French oak, 13% new. Red and black berries, lavender, fynbos and spice on the nose while the palate is medium bodied with bright acidity and a salty finish. Producer information Joostenberg, situated in Muldersvlei district in Stellenbosch, has belonged to the Myburgh family since 1879. Originally established by a Swedish settler in the late 1600’s, the farm contains an old ‘Cape Dutch’ Manor House which has been declared a national monument. The 5th generation of Myburgh family members now run the business, which apart from wine, also includes a deli, pork specialist butchery, bistro, events venue and Stellies Taproom. On top on that, Joostenberg has been certified organic since 2012.
