'As the prices for the Côte Rôtie have crept up, Jamet has maintained or even improved the quality of the IGP and Côtes du Rhône offerings so that consumers can continue to enjoy the house style, which tends to emphasize delicate herbal and floral nuances set against ripe fruit and silky textures. Savvy consumers know not to overlook the excellent white wines here, which include a Côtes du Rhône and a Condrieu. Half Marsanne this vintage, with the balance made up of 30% Viognier, 15% Grenache Blanc and 5% Roussanne, the 2019 Cotes du Rhone Blanc is more honeyed and richer than the 2020 version. Medium to full-bodied, with a fleshy, broad feel, more stone fruit and fewer florals, its balanced in a more corpulent way. Drink up. 2020 - 2022.' – Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate, 90/100 (Jan 2022)

'Produced from an assemblage of different plots in the commune of Ampuis, the white Côtes du Rhône from Domaine Jamet is northern in character. Mainly produced from Marsanne and Viognier grapes, this wine is fresh, with minerality, and provides immediate enjoyment.' – Domaine Jamet

Producer information Jean-Paul Jamet is arguably the leading producer in Côte-Rôtie and his approach has not changed over more than 40 vintages. He continues to produce hauntingly beautifully, but remarkably traditional wines. The wines of Domaine Jamet appeal to wine lovers around the world seeking classic, tensioned wines that show honesty and the soil in which they are grown. One of the most traditional wine producers in Cote-Rôtie, Jean-Paul blends 25 parcels, mostly from the Côte Brune, and uses little new oak and most of the stems. His maturations are longer than most and his wines are released later than other producers. Jean-Paul is slowly handing over custodianship of one of France’s great domaines to his son, Loïc.
