'Disgorged in February 2021 with 0.75 grams per liter dosage, the NV Extra-Brut Cuvée No. 744 is based on the 2016 vintage. Exhibiting complex aromas of orange oil, crisp stone fruit, fenugreek and subtle hints of yellow Chartreuse, it's medium to full-bodied, pillowy and seamless, with terrific depth at the core, lively acids and a pinpoint mousse. Simultaneously vivid but replete with sapid nuance, this new release throws into relief all the work the Jacquesson brothers have made in the vineyards and cellar over the last two decades. Drink 2021-2035.' – William Kelley, Wine Advocate, 94/100

'Despite its putative parentage of the balmy 2016 vintage, which makes up 70% of the blend, the Cuvée 744 bears all the Jacquesson hallmarks, namely encyclopaedic complexity, with tropical notes of guava and pineapple discreet behind the mealy, rich and yet wonderfully controlled mid-palate. Shard-like acidity runs through the ensemble and the finish is powerful and satisfying. Drinking Window 2021 - 2027.' – Simon Field MW, Decanter, 93/100

'The NV Cuvée No. 744 Grand Vin is a bright, taut Champagne that is going to need at least a few years to come together. This is one of the more reticent editions of the Cuvée I have tasted in a very long time. Citrus, crushed rocks and white flowers add an attractive upper register. The Chardonnay feels quite expressive today. Disgorged: January, 2021. Drink 2022-2030.' – Antonio Galloni, Vinous, 91+/100

'There’s a real green vegetal energy about the nose of this. And I don’t mean it’s unripe! Very distinctive indeed with a briskness and pace that is rare in champagne. Though it’s not a comfortable pair of slippers to slip on but a dry wine that demands attention.' – Jancis Robinson, JancisRobinson.com, 16.5++/20

Producer information Jacquesson has fast become the leading modern Champagne House even though its history stretches back to the 18th century. Under the leadership of brothers Laurent and Jean-Hervé Chiquet who took over from their father in the 1980's, the revolutionary herbicide-free, terroir-based philosophy has changed the face of Champagne. Jacquesson's production has halved over the last 3 decades, retaining only their finest vineyards and focusing on lower yields in an Extra-Brut Style. The house is not technically a grower Champagne as they lease 2 ha, but their demand always exceeds supply.
