‘Of the best in Champagne’ – Vinous
Jacquesson is one of the oldest and best independent Champagne houses, ranking at 5-star level alongside Krug, Selosse, Roederer, Bollinger and Egly-Ouriet! Their Cuvée 744, based on the 2016 vintage, is electric with ‘encyclopaedic complexity’, says Decanter. This is a wine first, bubbly second and ‘demands attention’, according to Jancis Robinson.
Founded in 1798, Jacquesson has a history of trailblazing. The owners, brothers Laurent and Jean-Hervé Chiquet, have changed the face of Champagne with their 700-series, focusing on vintages and single-vineyard bottlings.
'This new release throws into relief all the work the Jacquesson brothers have made in the vineyards and cellar over the last two decades.' – Wine Advocate

'We have here the best that Champagne can produce in terms of wines of terroir with distinctive personalities.' – La Revue du Vin de France
*Cuvée 1 dates back to 1898. The Chiquet brothers’ philosophy is to make Champagne like fine wine, approaching it from a vintage and terroir perspective and eschewing the traditional yearly, non-vintage 'house styles'. They re-launched the 700-series in 2000 with Cuvée 728. So when looking for the vintage on which one of Jacquesson’s 700-series is based, simply subtract 728 from the cuvée number. For example, 744 – 728 = 16. Thus, Cuvée 744 is based on the 2016 vintage.
