'Appealingly refined and delicate, this is a Cinsault that could easily be confused with a Pinot Noir. Rose petal and violet notes are a prelude to a palate of pomegranate, raspberry and aromatic spices. Engagingly understated. Drink 2021-26.' – Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2021, 93/100

'W.O. Darling. Carbonic maceration before maturation lasting seven months in older oak. Sour cherry, raspberry, some floral fragrance and fresh herbs on the nose while the palate is light-bodied and tart in the best sense with a nicely dry finish. Heyns is mildly concerned that it’s too “funky” and while it’s not a safe wine, rather appreciate if for its vigour and interest.' – Christian Eedes,, 91/100

'Pleasingly light-textured but seriously styled 2020, subtle violet & red fruit bouquet, mouthwatering cranberry & raspberry flavours, supple yet forming tannins. Bunch ferment, 2019 (4 stars, 89 pts) was partly carbonic. Old oak, as all the wines, 7 months.' – Platter's Guide, 4.5* (90/100)

'The 2020 vintage shows cranberries, violets, candied raspberry, rose geranium and plenty of perfume on the nose. The palette is layered with cherry, wild sage and savoury notes.' – Lucinda Heyns, Winemaker

She studied viticulture in South Africa and gained experience in South Africa, California and Italy. Lucinda’s winemaking philosophy is clear, she believes that wines should be crafted to reflect their origin and should harness what nature provides. She therefore follows a minimal intervention approach and allows each wine to reflect its unique vintage.
