‘Huet's bright golden colored 2016 Vouvray Clos du Bourg Moelleux Première Trie is clear, fresh and intensely fruity on the remarkably precise nose. Medium-bodied yet concentrated, elegant and sweet on the palate, this is a salty, piquant, mineral Chenin Blanc with intense, elegant and well-structured fruit. The wine reveals a chalky finesse and long tensioned finish. Bottled with 84 grams of residual sugar, this is still a pretty sweet but doubtlessly promising Vouvray. Producer information Domaine Huet is the region's most famous producer. Known for their elegant, flinty style, the domaine's wines are amongst the finest and longest lasting white wines in the world. Produced from 3 vineyards in varying degrees of sweetness depending on the vintage, the hallmark of Huet's wines is their unmistakable freshness and natural acidity. Domaine Huet was established in 1928 and has been farmed biodynamically since 1990. Each of Huet's three iconic vineyards imparts a different signature to its wine. Le Haut-Lieu's deep limeston-clay soil produces wines that typically blossom early. Le Mont has less clay and more stone, yielding young wines of intense minerality. With age, Le Mont cuvées develop great length and finesse. And due to its extremely shallow, stony soils, Clos du Bourg often synthesizes Le Mont's intense minerality with Le Haut-Lieu's generous texture.
