'This 1.3ha site is perhaps the best of the Lafon holdings in the Maconnais. The east-facing vines are located in the middle of the slope, in a semicircle, just outside the village. Fermented and aged for nearly one year in casks, showing great elegance and breed, with a firm citrus underpinning the ripe apple fruit. Producer information Considered one of the finest winemakers in France, Meursault-God Dominique Lafon bought property in the Mâcon in 1999. He believed strongly in the region, but felt that too few vignerons had attempted to realise its full potential. Thus, in the very same spirit that he runs his renowned Meursault domaine, Dominique utilises biodynamic viticulture, intense soil rejuvenation, tight yield control and rigorous green harvesting in the Mâcon. Ageing occurs in a mixture of steel tanks, wooden foudres, and demi-muid oak casks, and he produces some of the most complex, vibrant and impressive wines the region has ever seen!
