For 'a bargain way to experience Dominique Lafon’s magic touch,' as per Jancis Robinson, we recommend Les Héritiers du Comte Lafon’s wines. Dominique Lafon's talented on-site winemaker in the Mâconnais, Caroline Gon, enthusiastically noted that 2018 is an 'outstanding vintage that gave us superb fruit to work with.'

Biodynamically and organically produced, Lafon’s wines are pure, powerful and very precise. They show incredible depth, a mineral vein and bright acidity that keeps them fresh for years to come.

Tasting notes:
'This was being prepared for bottling at the time of my visit and not surprisingly, the nose was dominated by sulfur. Otherwise the intense and highly energetic flavors possess excellent delineation, indeed they're chiseled, before culminating in a bone dry grapefruit-inflected finish. This was hard to read but should come in around my projected range. Drink 2022+.' – Allen Meadows, Burghound, 87-89/100

About Héritiers du Comte Lafon:
Considered one of the finest winemakers in France, Meursault-God Dominique Lafon bought property in the Mâcon in 1999. He believed strongly in the region, but felt that too few vignerons had attempted to realise its full potential. Thus, in the very same spirit that he runs his renowned Meursault domaine, Dominique utilises biodynamic viticulture, intense soil rejuvenation, tight yield control and rigorous green harvesting in the Mâcon. Ageing occurs in a mixture of steel tanks, wooden foudres, and demi-muid oak casks, and he produces some of the most complex, vibrant and impressive wines the region has ever seen!
