'A monopole measuring .62 ha that is actually part of Les Cras. Here the equally complex nose flirts with exoticism with its intensely floral aromas of both white and yellow peach and apricot. The intense and slightly bigger-bodied flavors possess excellent volume and evident power while flashing a really lovely texture, all wrapped in a hugely long and stony finale. This isn't as refined as the Genevrières but there is even better depth. Drink 2031+.' – Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, 93/100

'Grapes come from a new vineyard for Boillot, with 60-year-old vines located in a clos contained within the Premier Cru Le Cras, in a south-east facing vineyard on the border with Monthelie. To judge from this, the site ripens fruit well, giving a wine that is buttery and rich, with a classic Meursault nose and a texture that is balanced but dense. Drinking Window 2021 - 2029.' – Charles Curtis MW, Decanter, 93/100

'The 2019 Meursault 1er Cru Clos Richemont is the first rendition of a newly acquired monopole chez Boillot, and it has turned out nicely, bursting with notes of pear, beeswax, nutmeg, woodsmoke and white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, ample and lively, it can't match the concentration of the house's Perrières or Gouttes d'Or, but it's very charming in its more open-knit style. Drink 2022-2042.' – William Kelly, Wine Advocate, 92/100

Producer information Based in Meursault, between the villages of Puligny-Montrachet and Volnay, Henri Boillot is at the epicentre of great winemaking. The Boillots have been tending vines and making wines since 1885. Henri joined in 1975, bought out his siblings in 2005 and his son, Guillaume, joined in 2008. It totals 19 hectares, with roughly equal surfaces of red and white. Included herein, is 4 hectares of the famous Monopole vineyard of Clos de la Mouchère which has developed a cult following. In a very short space of time, they’ve built an extraordinary reputation for the sheer quality of their Burgundy wines, it is no surprise that Allen Meadows thinks this superstar producer ‘has arguably become the finest pure négoce specializing in white Burgundy today’.
