'Here too the nose is quasi-Chablis like with similar nuances of iodine, mineral reduction and oyster shell along with a variety of citrus influences. The sleek and almost painfully intense broad-shouldered flavors flash plenty of minerality on the dense, muscular and bone-dry finale that leaves zero doubt that this will need extended patience if you're to see it at its peak. This youthfully austere effort has length to burn and it's not every day that you encounter a Corton-Charlemagne that can go head to head with a great Chevalier but this one can. Drink 2036+.' – Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, 96/100

'Produced from purchased grapes, the 2019 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is serious and structured, enforcing a change of pace after the series of Puligny-Montrachet grands crus. Mingling notes of pear and citrus oil with hints of toasted bread, white flowers and praline, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and chalky, with palpable structuring dry extract and tangy balancing acids. Drink 2025-2045.' – William Kelley, Wine Advocate, 95/100

'Purchased fruit from three parcels – one each from the villages of Ladoix-Serrigny, Pernand-Vergelesses and Aloxe-Corton. It is fermented and aged in 350L barrels, 20-50% new depending on the lot. The aromas begin with a distinct citrus note on the attack, but broaden on the palate with a nutty richness that is truly rewarding. The texture is luxurious, but the wine never loses its lovely freshness, which carries it through to a lingering finish. Drinking Window 2024 - 2039.' – Charles Curtis MW, Decanter, 95/100

Producer information Based in Meursault, between the villages of Puligny-Montrachet and Volnay, Henri Boillot is at the epicentre of great winemaking. The Boillots have been tending vines and making wines since 1885. Henri joined in 1975, bought out his siblings in 2005 and his son, Guillaume, joined in 2008. It totals 19 hectares, with roughly equal surfaces of red and white. Included herein, is 4 hectares of the famous Monopole vineyard of Clos de la Mouchère which has developed a cult following. In a very short space of time, they’ve built an extraordinary reputation for the sheer quality of their Burgundy wines, it is no surprise that Allen Meadows thinks this superstar producer ‘has arguably become the finest pure négoce specializing in white Burgundy today’.
