'A marvellous entry point to the range, this has expressive aromas of ripe apple and fresh white flowers, with just a hint of spice. On the palate, the wine is fresh and surprisingly lively. Produced mostly with grapes from Auxey-Duresses and St-Romain, slowly pressed in a vertical press and fermented in cask (5% new), with most of its lees. Drinking Window 2021 - 2029.' – Charles Curtis MW, Decanter, 91/100

'This year incorporating fruit from Saint-Romain and Monthélie, the 2019 Bourgogne Blanc exhibits aromas of pear, toasted bread and white flowers. Medium-bodied, racy and precise, with a nicely concentrated core of fruit and chalky back-end grip, it's a fine rendition of the appellation and represents a fine value. Drink 2020-2033.' – William Kelly, Wine Advocate, 88/100

'85% from Meursault and Puligny Bourgogne vines and the rest from declassified St. Romain and Auxey-Duresses in equal proportions. There is enough reduction to dominate the underlying fruit and I would thus suggest decanting this first. More interesting are the fresh and delicious middle weight flavors that possess good mid-palate density while exuding a bracing salinity on the refreshing finale. Drink 2023+.' – Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, 86/100

Producer information Based in Meursault, between the villages of Puligny-Montrachet and Volnay, Henri Boillot is at the epicentre of great winemaking. The Boillots have been tending vines and making wines since 1885. Henri joined in 1975, bought out his siblings in 2005 and his son, Guillaume, joined in 2008. It totals 19 hectares, with roughly equal surfaces of red and white. Included herein, is 4 hectares of the famous Monopole vineyard of Clos de la Mouchère which has developed a cult following. In a very short space of time, they’ve built an extraordinary reputation for the sheer quality of their Burgundy wines, it is no surprise that Allen Meadows thinks this superstar producer ‘has arguably become the finest pure négoce specializing in white Burgundy today’.
