Blend: 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Cabernet Franc, 16% Malbec and 14% Petit Verdot

Tasting notes:
'Lifted aromas of red cherries, cedar and dried peach on the nose leading on to sumptuous, dark fruits on the palate with just a hint of black pepper. A mediumbodied palate with firm, fine tannins. Finishes with a fresh but lingering aftertaste.' – winemaker

Alc: 14.3% | RS: 2.3 g/L | TA: 5.7 g/L | PH: 3.49

Tasting notes on the 2017 vintage:
'The best of the inexpensive wines from Gabriëlskloof, this large volume estate red partners Cabernet Sauvignon with 40% Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot. Subtle, leafy and refreshing, it's the kind of thing that would do well in a blind tasting with some Bordeaux Crus Bourgeois. Drink 2019-25.' – Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2019, 90/100

'Cabernet-based 2017 has dashes cab franc, petit verdot & malbec adding further satisfaction. Fruit richness allows for approachability, refreshing fine tannins ensure potential.' – Platter's Guide, 4*

About Gabriëlskloof:
Gabriëlskloof was established in 2001 when Bernhard Heyn discovered the Avontuur farm, located on the outskirts of Botrivier. He purchased the land and created Gabriëlskloof as we know it today. On the farm, they are passionate about incorporating environmentally friendly practices, where possible, and Gabriëlskloof is a WWF Conservation Champion farm. Cellar Master, Peter-Allan Finlayson, has been at Gabriëlskloof since 2014 and has reshaped the Gabriëlskloof aesthetic. Their wines aim to reflect the complexity, richness and diversity of Gabriëlskloof's unique terroir.
