Tasting notes:
'Grapes from a 1952 Paardeberg vineyard. Fermented on the skins for 10 days. Very attractive aromatics with notes of flowers, mint and other herbs plus citrus and white peach. Light and fresh on the palate, the finish providing a slight saline impression.' – Christian Eedes, WineMag.co.za, 90/100

Winemakers' comments:
'The name comes from the children who every year love to pick at the sweet berries and eat them, hence 'sweet cheeks'. Probably the most fragrant wine we make. Hanepoot (Muscat Alexandrie) is actually a table grape and meant for eating but we did an experiment in 2013 with skin contact to try and extract the flavour and it has made one of our most refreshing wines to drink.' – Craig & Carla Hawkins

About Testalonga:
Testalonga was established in 2008 by owners Craig and Carla Hawkins. The winemakers follow organic farming principles, which are still uncommon in Cape winemaking. The name Testalonga comes from a Sicilian outlaw and their wines are separated into two ranges, El Bandito and Baby Bandito. The wines have quirky names and labels and only small quantities are available for the local market.
