'Ripe berry and floral notes on the nose ride the palate's lacy texture, along with flavors of almond biscotti and lemon pith, with a chalky underpinning. Racy and refreshing, but harmonious overall. Disgorged October 2018. Drink now through 2023.' – Alison Napjus, Wine Spectator, 92/100

'Drappier was one of the first Champagne houses to release a zero-dosage wine. This 100% Pinot Noir is, as you may expect, bone dry, with a leesy, brioche character accompanied by rich baked apple and a steely tightness. It manages to balance richness with freshness without being too lean and pinching, as some zero-dosage wines can be.' – James Button, Decanter, 90/100

'By not adding sulfur to the wine, André and Michel Drappier have managed to produce a wine with greater depth than most, perhaps compounded by the slight oxidation that gives richness. It's a food wine, dry and packed with baked apple flavor, finishing on a high note of acidity. Disgorged March 2012.' – Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, 90/100

'Pale gold – darker than is typical for youngish champagne. Lovely rich biscuity aroma with a hint of orange. Lightly honeyed fresh apples and more baked apple as it opens. Deep and incredibly fresh but with the body to balance the high acidity. Creamy and long. The zero sulphur seems to have advanced the aroma development but not the palate, which is still tight even though the flavour is full in the mouth. Very good and remarkable for a zero sulphur in its purity. Plenty of power here too. Finely integrated mousse.' – Julia Harding MW, JancisRobinson.com, 17/20

'Very fresh nose, evoking pear, lemon and hazelnuts. On the palate, a very dry, mineral Champagne bursting with life. It will delight enthusiasts and purists on the lookout for new tastebud sensations. Recommended for those allergic to sulphur.' – Drappier

Producer information The house of Drappier was established during Napoleonic times, though its Urville cellars date back to the 12th century. Considered to be one of Champagne's greatest boutique producers, Drappier's vintage and prestige cuvées were famously collected by Charles de Gaulle - the French general and statesman who led the Free French Forces during the Second World War. Drappier's winemaking philosophy is one of minimum intervention and, since 2008, the house has been producing Champagne with very little addition of sugar and sulphur dioxide. The wines are typically fruity, lively and exuberant with a strong Pinot Noir influence.
