'The 2015 Doisy-Daëne has a very refined bouquet, extremely pure with honey, white flowers, touches of quince and beeswax. This is classy, refined and sophisticated. The palate is very well defined with a fine bead of acidity, fresh and vibrant with a precise and quite persistent finish that is very classy. Superb. Tasted blind at the Southwold 2015 Bordeaux tasting. Drink 2021-2040.' – Neal Martin, Vinous, 96/100 (Jul 2019)

'Very intense marmalade, lemon, grapefruit, apricot and honey nose. The palate is rich and complex with crisp balancing acidity and reverberating flavours of ginger, tropical fruit and exotic spice. Finishes long with a pleasant citrus fruit aftertaste. Entering peak drinking zone now.' – Decanter World Wine Awards, 96/100 (Gold)

'The 2015 Doisy-Daene has a detailed bouquet, very correct, nothing showy or flamboyant as is typical of Denis Dubourdieu's Barsac. The palate is extremely well balanced and very pure: citrus fruit infusing the honeyed botrytis, veins of white peach and quince, leading to a very precise and sustained finish that leaves you with a smile on your face...and the wine ain't even finished yet! Just a wonderful wine - full of class and nascent joie-de-vivre. Chapeau Denis! Drink 2019-2050.' – Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, 95-97/100

'Barrel Sample. This is opulent and rich, with wonderful gingery spice and layers of acidity and orange zest. The wine is full of pure, clean and ripe fruit flavors.' – Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, 94-96/100

'This has nice intensity, with bright verbena, green plum and mirabelle plum notes streaking ahead, backed by more flattering persimmon and creamed yellow apple flavors. A bitter citrus thread gives the finish tension. Nicely done, in the fresher style. Best from 2020 through 2035. 3,167 cases made.' – James Molesworth, Wine Spectator, 94/100

'Tasted blind. Creamy and broad with a tight finish. Much less evolved than any lesser sweet bordeaux. Introvert and tightly wound. Long and pretty impressive. Drink 2025-2040.' – Jancis Robinson,, 17.5/20 (Jan 2019)

Producer information Château Doisy-Daëne is known for its highly-acclaimed sweet wine, although it produces a dry white wine too. It is located in Barsac and was created in the late 1800s by Jacques Emmanuel Daëne. Doisy-Daëne was sold numerous times until 1924 when it was purchased by the Dubourdieu family. It had only 4 hectares of vines at the time and has since grown to an 18-hectare estate, planted mostly with Sémillon and a small amount of Sauvignon Blanc.
