‘"The 2022 vintage humbled us," says David Sadie, but brilliant winemakers shine in adversity. This scented, refined, very lightly wooded Grenache has lots of granite-derived freshness and minerality, red cherry, raspberry and pomegranate flavours and succulent, textured tannins. 2023-30’ – Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2023, 94/100

‘Beginning with a floral and red-fruited nose, the 2022 Grenache Noir offers notes of raspberry and dusty plum with a delightful floral lift from whole cluster. Medium-bodied, the palate is succulent and fresh, offering a lingering tannic edge before a soft herbal flavor creeps into the long, red-fruited finish. There’s a touch of reduction on the aftertaste. Enjoy with food. 2023-2034’ – Anthony Mueller, Wine Advocate, 93+/100

‘Grapes from four vineyards located across the Swartland, differing amounts of whole-bunch fermentation used for the various parcels but on average 50%. The nose is shy with traces of cranberry, rose and dried herbs. Medium bodied with fresh acidity and fine tannins.’ – Christian Eedes, Winemag.co.za, 92/100

Producer information David and Nadia Sadie head up their Swartland-driven project with passion while focusing on a range of organic, old-vine, dry land bush vine vineyards. They aim to produce fresh, natural wines with minimal intervention. They produce three different ranges of wines; the David & Nadia range, Topography range and Single vineyards range. Most of their grapes come from their winery on the Paardebosch farm with the rest sourced from other Swartland vineyards.
