'I've loved every vintage of this cuvée and the 2018 Saint Joseph Le Clos is undoubtedly with the best of them. Incredibly complex notes of black raspberries, flowers, lavender, bouquet garni, and a terrific sense of elegance all emerge from the glass, and this full-bodied beauty has a silky, elegant texture, great tannins, and one seriously lengthy finish. It shows more spice and meaty nuances with time in the glass and this is more Hermitage than your classic Saint Joseph. Enjoy bottles any time over the coming 20 years.' – Jeb Dunnuck, 97/100

'The impressive 2018 Saint-Joseph Le Clos offers up notes of both black cherries and black olives. It's full-bodied, rich and concentrated, with a velvety-textured but mouthwatering finish and some dusty tannins. Drink 2023-2035.' – Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate, 95-97/100 (Dec 2019)

'This red makes a fruit-driven impression initially, with a core of dark plum, currant and blackberry compote flavors, but they're well-harnessed with a graphite spine and infused liberally with smoldering tobacco, alder and warm earth accents, giving it a much fuller range. The finish is well-built and moves slowly and steadily. One for the cellar. Best from 2022 through 2035.' – James Molesworth, Wine Spectator, 95/100 (Aug 2021)

'Powerful, mineral-accented aromas of ripe dark fruits, cola, candied flowers, olive paste and exotic spices. Densely packed and energetic in style, offering bitter cherry, blueberry, floral pastille and fruitcake flavors that unfurl slowly with air and show brisk delineation. The blue fruit note drives a strikingly long, spicy finish shaped by fine-grained, slowly building tannins.' – Josh Raynolds, Vinous, 93-95/100 (May 2020)

'More baked, cake-like aromas than their Granits. Very dense and layers on the palate. High tannins. Burnt-meat flavours. Very serious and intense, but there is excellent structural balance thanks to the punchy acid on the finish. Still in raw form. Drink 2022-2033.' – Richard Hemming MW,, 17.5/20 (Jun 2019)
