'Is le Méal the most complex and complete lieu-dit on Hermitage, when considering both red and white wines? The 2018 Ermitage le Méal Blanc certainly makes a case for the white, offering honeyed, complex notes of mixed citrus, pineapple, pear and melon, structural notes of crushed stone, ample weight and richness on the palate and a long, vibrant finish. Just terrific. Drink 2020-2040.' – Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate, 97-99/100 (Dec 2019)

'Another heavenly white from this estate is the 2018 Ermitage Le Méal Blanc, which comes from a warmer, full south-facing vineyard. As with all the top whites here, it's brought up in larger format barrels, with around 25% new. It offers powerful notes of orange blossom, candied tangerines, flower oil, candle wax, and liquid rock-like minerality. These carry to a full-bodied monster of a wine that expands beautifully on the palate, yet still stays pure, balanced, and chiseled. Drink this blockbuster any time over the coming two decades or more.' – Jeb Dunnuck, 98/100

'Lush and exotic, with creamed mango, peach and papaya notes that are nonetheless fresh in feel, glistening with verbena, chamomile and honeysuckle accents and backed by a mouthwatering swath of salted butter on the finish. Drink now through 2035.' – James Molesworth, Wine Spectator, 97/100 (Aug 2021)

'Shimmering gold. Powerful, mineral-accented poached pear and peach nectar scents, along with suggestions of honey, brown butter and pungent flowers. Weighty yet energetic on the palate, offering alluringly sweet orchard and pit fruit liqueur flavors that are given spine by a core of juicy acidity. Rich yet sharply delineated, showing excellent finishing clarity, velvety texture and strong, mineral-driven persistence. Drink 2024-2034.' – Josh Raynolds, Vinous, 96/100 (May 2020)

'Bold, buttery, dense and thick. Lots of bitter herbal elements on the palate – inevitably invoking the garrigue landscape. Full and thick and potent. Less obviously oaky than their Granits St-Joseph at this early stage, and generally more closed, with very fat texture. Drink 2021-2028.' – Richard Hemming MW,, 17++/20 (Jun 2019)
