‘At 30%, the proportion of Semillon in this exemplary blend with Sauvignon Blanc is at its highest yet. The bunches were tiny in 2021 - "small enough to fit in the palm of my hand" says Riandri Visser - and you can taste the concentration in the wine. Fermented in 30% new 600 litre barrels, this is a structured, intense, subtly wooded cuvée with cinnamon, green herb and pink grapefruit flavours and thrilling minerality. 2023-30’ – Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2022, 96/100

‘Long a blueprint & benchmark for the Cape Bordeaux white category, with distinctive, aromatic profile & finessed fruit. From own wind-blown vines, 2021 sauvignon with semillon, bunch pressed & spontaneously fermented in 30% new oak, adding savouriness & complexity without detracting from the blackcurrant-toned flavours.’ – Platter’s Guide, 4.5*(94/100)

‘The 2021 Isliedh is a blend of 70% Sauvignon Blanc and 30% Semillon, a little higher than the previous vintage. The grape varieties are picked separately, settled for six hours and spontaneously fermented in 600-litre barrels for 12 months of which four months in the fine lees. It has a very succinct bouquet with nuanced scents of chalk, grapefruit, melon and nettle, the Semillon lending complexity and a slight resinous scent. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, taut and fresh, quite Bordeaux-like with impressive mineralité and a tensile finish, hints of orange pith and tangerine on the aftertaste. Always one of my favourite Cape Sauvignon Blancs, this is just excellent. 2023-2032’ – Neal Martin, Vinous, 93/100
