'The 2014 has a beguiling nose – some reduction, citrus and white peach, hints of flowers and spice. The palate is lean but not mean with fresh acidity and a long finish. Just a hint of leesy complexity. It’s extremely elegant and shows great winemaking deftness.' – Christian Eedes,, 95/100

'The Hope Marguerite block was planted in 1978, but the wine it produces tastes as if it comes from even older vines. Creamy yet focused, leesy and sensitively oaked, it has complex tangerine and tarte tatin flavours and a long, satisfying finish. A great site and a great Chenin.' – Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2015, 94/100

'Understated, restrained styling in 2014 with lively tension; oak integration & less sugar (4.2 g/l) than 2013 (93 pts) ensure long, clean apple & lime farewell. Proven pedigree from 41 & 37 year vines to deserve/reward cellaring. Also in 1.5 & 3L.' – Platter's Guide, 4.5*

'Pungent and deep flavoured with green freshness and Chenin richness. Almost Loire-like!' – Jancis Robinson,, 17/20 (Jun 2017)

Producer information Beaumont, located in Botriver, is a family-run farm. It was founded by Raoul and Jayne Beaumont in 1974, and is now run by their son Sebastian Beaumont. The farm dates back to the 1700’s when it was owned by the Dutch East India Company and is now home to the region’s oldest wine cellar. The vineyards sit on ancient clay-rich soil and are said to be some of the finest in the area. Beaumont, always doing something interesting and different, were the first to introduce Mourvèdre as a single bottled variety in South Africa.
