The 7 Crus Brut is a superb non-vintage blend comprised of 90% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot noir from 1er Cru and Grand Cru vineyards from 7 villages surrounding Avize.

'Agrapart describes this as its 'entry-level' wine, but it's far from your normal non-vintage Champagne. A blend of premier and grand cru grapes from two different vintages, its super-fresh, lemony nose segues into a tight, steely palate with delicious stone-fruit ripeness. 'Agrapart's NV Brut 7 Crus now routinely includes some 10% Pinot Noir, and the latest rendition is based on the 2016 vintage, supplemented by fully 40% from 2015. This bottle was disgorged in May 2019 with seven grams per liter dosage. Offering up aromas of rips citrus fruit, yellow apples and white flowers, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and vinous, with a comparatively open-knot, fleshy profile, concluding with a chalky and precise finish. 'The NV Brut 7 Crus is an attractive, easygoing wine that will drink well upon release. A touch of Pinot softens the edges nicely, giving this Chardonnay-base Champagne tons of accessibility. Lemon confit, chamomile, mint and white pepper all open in the glass, but it is the wine's textural feel that makes the 7 Crus so rewarding to taste and drink today. This release is equal parts 2017 and 2016, from parcels in Avize, Oger, Oiry, Cramant, Avenay Val d’Or, Bergères les Vertus and Mardeuil. Producer information Since its inception in 1894, Agrapart’s wines have had an underground following and have gained international recognition in recent years. 4th generation Pascal Agrapart farms more than 70 parcels of vines adding up to 12 hectares. These include 9.5 hectares located in the Côte des Blancs Grands Crus Avize, Oger, Cramant and Oiry, 1.5 hectares of Chardonnay and 1 hectare of Pinot Noir in Avenay-Val-d'Or Premier Cru (Montage de Reims).

A traditional Coquard press is used at harvest with fermentation done by the ambient yeast, which Agrapart feels is crucial to the expression of terroir. All base wines undergo malolactic fermentation with aging mostly in 600L demi-muids. No fining, filtration or stabilisation occurs. Dosage is kept low and the Champagnes are typically bottled in May around the full moon.
