Trizanne Sig. Wines, TSW Sauvignon Blanc 2018

Notes

100% Sauvignon Blanc

The Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon grapes are sourced from Elim, where prevailing winds provide a cool ripening season. All grapes are carefully nurtured and selected, to ensure that only the best makes it to bottle. All TSW wines tend to show an underlying elegance and gracefulness.

Tasting notes:
'Avoiding excessive greenness is the challenge for anyone making Sauvignon Blanc in Elim and Trizanne Barnard has nailed it here. Zesty, floral and dusty, with subtle fynbos aromas and a pithy acidity. 2018-21.' – Tim Atkin SA Report 2018, 90/100

'Vibrant and fresh nose of crushed rocks, ripe pear and yellow gooseberry. Quite energetic on the palate which builds and has more profundity than one may first realise. Walks the tightrope between bracing Elim freshness and ripe fruit brilliantly. Finishes on a dry, clean and very classy note.' – Winemaker

Viticulture:
Harvest started in the second week of February & continued for 2 weeks. The different Sauvignon Blanc parcels were fermented separately after which they were left on the lees for a few months before meticulous blending took place.
