Notes

Flotsam & Jetsam wines are made in a simple way from fantastic vineyards. No fuss. Sometimes wine just needs to be wine. Stop naming fruits. Say “loganberry” and this wine will literally slap you. That’s how they made it.

Made in a light style and ultimately just to be smashed back. The wine straddles the line between seriousness and fun and is best enjoyed as the mood takes you. It is essential to serve this wine chilled though.

Flotsam & Jetsam is Chris and Suzaan Alheit’s take on Cinsault. The grapes are from the same Darling block that supplies Francois Haasbroek, Ian Naudé, Donovan Rall and Duncan Savage.

Tasting notes:
'The 2017 shows red and black fruit, fennel, olive, earth and spice. The palate is currently quite raw and relatively chunky given an alcohol of just 12.5% – six to 12 months in bottle should make all the difference'. – Christian Eedes, 89/100
