Notes

This wine is fully allocated. Small portions are available in our 2018 AIP. See more information here.

Restless River wines are hand crafted by the Wessels family on their farm in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, next door to the coastal village of Hermanus in the Western Cape, South Africa. The farm is owned and run by Craig and Anne, winemaker and manager respectively.

Tasting notes:
'There are slightly more Cabernet Sauvignons in the cool Hemel-en-Aarde Valley than you’d imagine (three to precise), but this easily the best of the trio. Fresh, savoury and herbal with fine tannins, good structure and density and an artist’s use of wood ageing. 2020-28.' – Tim Atkin SA Special Report 2018, 95/100

'Matured for 21 months in French oak, 25% new. Cassis, some leafiness and violets on the nose – a quintessential of the variety. The palate has lovely fruit purity – dense yet not sweet or sumptuous – with fresh acidity and fine tannins. More complete than previous vintages and just really pristine.' – Christian Eedes, Winemag.co.za, 94/100
