Notes

Since 1850, the traditions of this unique brand, Ragnaud-Sabourin, have been preserved by the family house. Owners in Grande Champagne 1er crû de Cognac, Gaston Briand and Marcel Ragnaud uphold the past traditions, while Annie Ragnaud Sabourin accompanied by her son Olivier represent the future.

Grande Champagne is the very best in the region. A profoundly unique terroir and the first cru of the 'Cognac' region, as defined by the decree of 1st May 1909. The Cognacs exclusively from Grande Champagne are characterised by their exceptional quality. New wood barrels and an initial bouquet of cognac gradually combine and lead to the emergence of floral notes, the very essence of this part of the Charente region. All cognacs of the Maison Ragnaud-Sabourin are produced from this premium eau-de-vie.

There is no blending of crus, just simply a single appellation of origin. And this is what makes the global reputation of Ragnaud-Sabourin Cognac.

A unblendend Grande Champagne delicate and very elegant. On the nose rather fruity. You mind smell some orange notes. The palate smooth and rich with a well developed and complex finish - marked by the Charente rancio.

Colour: Mahogany
Nose: Fruity, with touches of liquorice and linden
Palate: Smooth, marked by the Charente rancio
Grape varieties: 60% Ugni Blanc and 40% Folle Blanche - Colombard

The balanced blend of the 3 Cognac grape varieties lends Fontvieille exceptional charm. The oldest plots of the estate gave the Cognac its name.
