Wine: Straw wine 375ml
An excellent vintage – a serious dessert wine with 255g/l sugar. Attractive bright gold colour. Great intensity and sweetness, similar in style to 2006. Dried apricot and lemon skin, some flintiness, but mostly complex honey and treacle. The palate is intensely sweet yet not cloying, fresh and lively with an oxidative complexity and a long clean finish. This vintage is best as a sweet treat on its own after a meal. A rewarding challenge to match with desserts!

Quite ripe and lush, offering a delicious mix of creamed mango and papaya fruit laced with maple, honey and apricot hints, all allied to a broad, fleshy frame, with a long finish. Delicious. Chenin Blanc. Drink now through 2013.—J.M.

Wine: Vin de Constance
"Even against Denis Dubourdieu’s decadent L’Extravagant 2003, for me, the superlative Vin de Constance 2007 is the better wine. It offers a scintillating bouquet that is beautifully defined with mandarin, wild honey, lavender and Seville orange marmalade vying for attention on the nose. The palate displays more race and better acidity than the Barsac with crystalline honeyed fruits and immense freshness and poise on the finish. Brilliant winemaking here – a South Africa legend that does not disappoint. Drink now-2040+ Tasted September 2012.” 97 points Neal Martin, eRobertParker.com

Wine: Straw wine 375ml
Deep golden straw in colour, with a rich, viscous appearance. The nose is a complex, enticing blend of dried peaches, apricots and marmalade, with savory, nutty aromas of almonds, marzipan and honey. The intense, dizzying mouthfeel is balanced by a clean, fresh and very long finish of dried apricots. The wine is best served chilled at 9 to 11 C.

Wine: Eselshoek 375ml
100% muscat d’Alexandrie planted in 1887. Apricots and sweet rooibos tee mixed with extra matured cheddar cheese out of tin with almonds and some sweet gammon. Entry is silky and slippery, the structure rises and dries, acidity refreshes and cleans. Palate becomes more savoury from nose there is a mineral swirl of pebbles on the mid palate of feel and taste with flambéed orange on finish. Its ultra decadent. Tessa December 2011

Wine: Eszencia 375ml
The Eszencia made the top 5 of the most interesting wines of the world by Tom Stevenson, and 5 stars in the Platter's. Only 300 bottles of 375ml have been produced of this nectar. Produced following the traditionnal Hungarian methods, this decadent wine will be able to stand the test of time, and with 520 g/l of residual sugar, and 14,5 g/l of acidity, one can save this wine for the next generation... A blend of Furmint and Sauvignon Blanc, the ESZENCIA fermented in 20 litres glass fermenters for 4 years. Filtered only once at the bottling, this wine must be drunk as the Emperors used to drink the Eszencia, on its own, as a jewel to share. Alcohol content is 5,2%. Available by the bottle. No more than 3 bottles per wine lover.

Wine: Chenin Blanc Straw Wine 375ml
This is an unctuous wine that entices you from the first sniff to the long after taste of the last drop! 100% Chenin Blanc, from old vines, picked early then left to air dry for 2 weeks. The dried bunches are then pressed and fermented in old French oak barrels for up to 6 months. The result is an immense concentration of dried apricots and honey, while the equally concentrated acidity cuts through the sweetness to provide perfect balance. Great potential for ageing.
