Paserene, The Shiner 2016

R160

12 in stock

Notes

80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc

Paserene is a small, family operated winery owned by Martin Smith and Ndabe Mareda, the sole purpose of which is to produce high-end, luxury wines. Great care was given to ensure that the wines produced, and artwork on the labels, are truly authentic to its “sense of place and people” and will guarantee a lasting legacy.

The name Paserene comes from the Latin word Passeriformes, the order of 'traveling and free' birds containing swifts and swallows. Paserene is situated in the quaint town of Franschhoek and is home to their award-winning wine range.

Tasting notes:
'Shiner sees the masculinity of good old Stellenbosch Cabernet Sauvignon rounded by small portions of Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. The wine boasts seductive notes of raspberries and black currants, with herbaceous and savoury notes. The palate is stylish and complex with traces of aniseed and liquorice dominating generous fruit and light but graceful tannins. Drink the mystery.' – Winemaker

Vinification:
The wine was matured in 20% new oak for 22 months.
