Jacquesson: One of Champagne's finest

‘For my money, the 700 series continues to be one of the best relative
values in Champagne.’ – Antonio Galloni

We are delighted to offer the latest Jacquesson Cuvée 739, based on the 2011 vintage. Jacquesson owns and farms 80% of its vineyards and, along with its extra-brut ethos, reflects more of a ‘Grower Champagne’ style. The 739 heralds from Jacquesson’s three Grands Crus and two Premiers Crus, using only the first pressings. They are vinified in oak casks and almost always unfiltered.

Champagne Jacquesson

World Champagne expert Richard Juhlin has only awarded a handful of houses 5-star status. Jacquesson sits alongside Krug, Roederer, Bollinger, Selosse and Egly-Ouriet at the top!

Although considered non-vintage, Jacquesson is produced specifically to age both on and off the lees. This is demonstrated with the release of the Dégorgement Tardif (late disgorged) Cuvée 735 which is based on 2007 and spends 9 years on the lees.

Jacquesson, Cuvée 739 Extra-Brut NV
Jacquesson's soon to be released Cuvée 739 Extra-Brut is based on the 2011 vintage and 31% Reserve wines, all from Grand and Premier Cru sites in the Côte des Blancs and Vallée de la Marne. The 739 is an assemblage of 57% Chardonnay, 21% Pinot Noir and 22% Meunier, all fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged in foudres. The unfiltered wine was disgorged in July 2014 with a dosage of 3.5 grams per liter.

Medium-intense in its golden color, the Cuvée 739 shows a clear, deep, rich and complex nose of ripe white fruits, bread, honey wax, and spicy aromas intermixed with refreshing chalk and lemon flavors in the background. Full-bodied, lovely, pure and fresh on the palate, with nutty flavors and a stunningly smooth fruit, this is a full-flavored, wide open yet very delicate Champagne with a very fine and well-structured mineral finish. This is not a big wine perhaps (although it starts a little bit as such), but a Champagne full of elegance and finesse. It's a great aperitif and food partner for lighter dishes. And a lovely midnight drink anyway. – The Wine Advocate, 92/100

Jacquesson, Cuvée 735 Dégorgement Tardif NV
The 735 DT is based on the 2007 vintage, with 28% Reserve wines. The blend is 47% Chardonnay, 33% Pinot Noir and 20% Pinot Meunier. Disgorged late 2015, with 3.5g/l dosage. Elegant and well-balanced, it shows freshness and remarkable youth. Floral and spice notes on the nose, lead to a rich palate of bread dough, dried apricot, lemon confit and pastry cream. Deliciously long and elegant. – Roland Peens (March 2017)
