Dalla Cia Pinot Noir 2015: A statement of luxury

George and his legendary father Giorgio Dalla Cia, best known for creating and vinifying decades of the iconic Meerlust Rubicon, have just released their finest Pinot Noir yet. Signed by both George and Giorgio, we have been given an exclusive allotment of all 100 signed Dalla Cia Pinot Noir 2015 bottles.

Dalla Cia

Only released in exceptional vintages, this Pinot is produced from a single vineyard on the Polkadraai Hills, planted with Dijon clones. Exuberant in style, it has a forward charm and loads of opulent fruit, yet it is balanced by a forest floor depth and a luxurious but dry frame. This is a wine for special occasions.

From one of the finest South African vintages ever, this 2015 is another gem of a wine to collect and cellar for the next 10 – 15 years.

Dalla Cia, Pinot Noir 2015 – R 590
Only its third release, produced from a Stellenbosch parcel planted with Dijon 777 Clones. This is a luxury wine with a wonderfully seductive nose of black rose, spice and wild berry counterbalanced by a pleasant dried porcini, savouriness and damp earth complexity. A plush palate follows with spicy oak notes, polished tannins coated with cherry tobacco and a deep, satisfying earthiness. This 2015 ends long and dry. There is lots of oomph here and is certainly one of the bigger and fuller styles of Pinot we have tasted. A real charmer that brings you back for more. This is a collector’s item to be cherished at the table and hauled out for celebrations. Drink 2020 – 2030. – James Pietersen (February 2017)
