Notes

"37% Verdelho (from the oldest block in SA – planted in Stellenbosch some 20 years ago), 31% Chenin Blanc (Swartland), 15% Grenache (Stellenbosch), 12% Roussanne (Voor-Paardeberg) and 5% Clairette Blanche (Stellenbosch). The Grenache Blanc is fermented on the skins for seven days; the Roussanne and Clairette Blanche matured in amphorae.

Tasting notes:
'A tenderly drawn young woman pictured on the label - Franco's wife. 17 as lovely: widely sourced verdelho & chenin, plus 3 others. Expressive, fresh, light & refined, well structured with a tannic touch. Quietly, confidently falvourful & presistent. Many years ahead of it.' – Platters Wine Guide 2019, 5*

'Keeping it in the family, Franco Lourens has named this stunning white blend after his wife. Lucky woman. It’s a cuvée of Verdelho, Chenin Blanc, Grenache Blanc, Roussanne and Clairette Blanche, showing a light touch with oak, flavours of citrus fruit, green apple, wild herbs and wet stone and a long, balanced finish. 2018-23.' – Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2018, 95/100

'The nose displays a herbal top note before pear, white peach, green apple and citrus as well as a hint of reduction. The palate is light, fresh and elegant. This is a delicate, detailed wine – plenty of flavour but very subtle, the finish long and pithy.' Christian Eedes, 93/100
