Domaine Huet is the region’s most famous producer. Known for their elegant, flinty style, the domaine's wines are amongst the finest and longest lasting white wines in the world! Produced from 3 vineyards in varying degrees of sweetness depending on the vintage, the hallmark of Huet’s wines is their unmistakable freshness and natural acidity.

We are humbled to offer Domaine Huet’s iconic 2016 Vouvrays. The 3 vineyards of Le Mont, Le Haut-Lieu and Clos du Bourg produce mineral-styled, long-ageing Chenin Blancs of varying sweetness that, according to Neal Martin, will ‘silence a dinner party with awe and wonderment’.

Domaine Huet was established in 1928 and has been farmed biodynamically since 1990. Winemaker Jean-Bernard Barthomé classifies the complicated 2016 vintage as ‘exceptional’ as frost reduced yields by 50% but the harvest conditions were remarkably dry. As a result, Huet produced wines at all levels of sweetness from Sec to Première Trie. These 2016s complete an unprecedented trio of great vintages – following the classical and fresh 2014s and the powerful 2015s.

‘All the wines are very delicate, elegant, pure and superbly balanced expressions of their specific terroirs,’ writes Wine Advocate who gave the wines massive ratings along with Wine Spectator.

Tasting notes:
'Delivers a beautiful display of purity and grace, with creamed Jonagold apple, star fruit, white peach and chamomile notes flowing seamlessly, backed by wet stone and fresh verbena accents. Subtle but persistent energy ripples through the very long finish. Drink now through 2035.' – Wine Spectator, 96/100

‘Dressed in a golden-yellow robe and bottled with 18 grams of residual sugar, Huet's 2016 Vouvray Le Haut-Lieu Demi-Sec offers a clear and aromatic bouquet of crushed chalk and ripe, tropical fruit aromas. Round, piquant and salty on the palate, with a delicate juiciness and stimulating mineral grip, this is a promising and tensioned Chenin Blanc that delivers more drama and piquancy to the palate than the Sec counterpart. Although it's already lovely to drink, I would keep it at least for five years. The 2016 is lovely, pure, straight and elegant. Tasted February 2018.’ – Wine Advocate, 91/100
