Notes

100% Pinotage

In tribute to the celebrated terroir of the historical Stellenbosch wine region, L’Avenir focuses on producing elegant wines which showcase their unique setting.

They focus on the 2 varietals which form the foundation stone of the South African wine industry – tipping their hat to the heritage of Chenin Blanc while embracing the innovation inherent in Pinotage.

Tasting notes:
A vibrant and inviting sunset pink. On the nose it's a lively and layered nose with candy-sweet strawberry mingling with a delicate rose-petal note and ending off with an abundance of citrus aromas. A deceptively dry wine with a refreshing acidity that complements the fruity palate of the wine.

Viticulture:
The grapes have been harvested from our most iconic Block of Pinotage (Blk2), at the highest point on the farm (220m above sea level). The most common soil type to be found within this block is called Glenrosa and that’s also where the name GlenRosé is derived from. The grapes have been harvested slightly earlier than normal to assure good natural acidity and gently fruit intensity. Overall good vintage with beautiful elegant flavours and lingering after taste.

Vinification:
All grapes are L’Avenir Estate derived, these grapes are Stellenbosch of origin and it is harvested from our iconic Block of Pinotage (Blk2).
