Notes

Often referred to as the workhorse red cultivar of South Africa, it only seemed fitting that they source their grapes from the second oldest block on Cinsaut in Stellenbosch. Planted in 1952. Low yielding bush vines. They wanted to allow the vineyard to sing its tune of sweet nostalgia once more.

Picked on the 8th March 2016.

Production:
Berries were sorted for optimal ripeness. The wine was 100% whole bunch fermented in open topped fermenters with 2 punch downs a day for 10 days. It was then basket pressed straight into a single old 500L French oak barrel. The wine spent a total of 9 months in oak before a light egg white fining. The wine was bottled in December 2016.

Analysis:
Alc: 13% RS: 1.7 g/l pH: 3.78

Oor die heuwels van die land.
Net so bietjie reën.
En dalk 'n brokkie son.
Waai windjie waai.
Jou sente, jou drome.
Oor die rand van die glas.
Al meer gaan verstom.
Jou het ek lief bo alles.
