Notes

'Does anyone make a better Grenache in South Africa than David Sadie? Using grapes from three Swartland sites and fermented with 40% whole bunches, it’s sappy, pale, complex and understated, with filigree tannins, summer berry fruit and remarkable precision. Drink: 2016-21.‘ – Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2016

Winemakers' comments:
'Very tight and youthful with firm grape tannins that are laced with a delicate, feminine perfume of pomegranate and sour cherry. Harvested from three vineyards of which two are planted in the decomposed granite soils of the Paardeberg Mountain and the remainder is organically farmed to the north of Malmesbury in deeper clay-driven soils.' – David and Nadia Sadie

'The nose shows roses, red currant, cherries and that olive-like note so many Swartland reds show as well as a little spice. The palate has good palate weight, fresh acidity and fine tannins.' – Christian Eedes, Winemag.co.za 93/100
