Notes

'Now in its sixth vintage, David Sadie’s brilliant, Chenin-based white blend also contains Roussanne, Clairette Blanche, Viognier and Semillon. Peach, pear and apple flavours combine with notes of baking spices, subtle oak and pithy, focused acidity and a finish that lingers for over a minute. Brilliant winemaking. Drink: 2016-22.‘ – Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2016

Winemakers' comments:
'Yet again a blend of 12 different vineyards, drawing from different soil types throughout the Swartland. The 2015 vintage blend consists of Chenin blanc, Roussanne, Clairette blanche, Viognier and Sémillon. The drier 2015 vintage shows the intensity from the dry land farmed vineyards and the drier weather conditions and is reminiscent of the 2011 vintage Aristargos in terms of its tension, texture and focused detail.' – David and Nadia Sadie

'35% Chenin Blanc, 25% Roussanne, 19% Viognier, 15% Clairette Blanche and 8% Semillon. An amazingly complex nose of citrus, white and yellow peach, potpourri, scrub, earth and marzipan. Rich but seamless and wonderfully balanced. This is luxuriant drinking – there’s plenty of weight but also fresh acidity. Succulent upfront but the overall impression is dry. Great depth and length.' – Christian Eedes, Winemag.co.za 95/100

'Intriguing, dense nose that suggests there is much more to come. Very rich start - almost Grasmere gingerbread (including the cut peel), a hint of saltiness - and then admirable freshness. Very complex with real chew and layers. You could enjoy this already but I feel it will develop too. Great stuff! Drink 2016-2020' – Jancis Robinson 17/20
