Notes

100% Pinot Noir

The 2017 Art of Creation Pinot Noir arises from a small ‘gem-of-a-pocket’ within a single vineyard block. With 30% whole-bunch fermentation, it offers deeper texture and mind-blowing complexity.

Tasting notes:
Just bottled when I tasted it, so it may get even better over the next few months, this firm, structured, but very pure Pinot Noir is built for the long haul. Subtle aromatic spices, scented oak and a core of bramble and raspberry fruit. Drink: 2020-2028. – Tim Atkin MW, 94/100

'The 2017 Art of Pinot Noir is the first vintage to make use of a cooling container to cool down the fruit pre-ferment. It is then aged for 12 months in 60% new and 40% second-fill barrels. This has more red fruit on the nose than the 2016, and probably better definition and focus too. The palate is well balanced with fine tannin, crisp and taut with a lovely spiciness/hints of fennel coming through with aeration. There is certainly great tension here and I find this superior to the previous vintage. Excellent.' – Neal Martin Report 2018, 93/100
