Cellaring rates include

  • Receiving, handling and documentation.
  • Cataloguing and barcoding of full cases. Mixed cases will accrue a cataloguing fee.
  • The ability to view your cellar online. Once the stock has been received, a unique login and password will be given to each customer.
  • Insurance of R150 per 750ml bottle of wine for coverage of storm, wind, fire and water damage. Customers who require additional cover must approach their own short-term insurance providers.

Cataloguing fee*

  • All wines stored at Wine Cellar require cataloguing for precise administration and tracking. A once-off cataloguing fee of R5 per wine type is billed when receiving mixed cases. A mixed case of 12 different wines will, for example, attract a once-off fee of R60.

Private rates**

  • Wine Cellar’s cellars comprise of 40,000 cases across hundreds of storage bins, each tracked by a unique barcode and managed by an ERP system. Customers wishing to group their wine together in one location will be charged a private rate which involves a 10% surcharge above our standard rates. This surcharge is required for the extra space and time needed to administer private storage.
  • Trade customers seeking large-volume storage of uniform wine types can apply for a trade rate with Stefan@winecellar.co.za.

Conditions

  • Wine Cellar requires 24 hours’ notice for access to reserves.
  • Payment is required on invoice.
  • Full payment is required on the withdrawal of all wines.
  • A minimum cellaring period of 6 months per contract unless otherwise agreed.
  • All wines require cataloguing and checking before being accepted into storage.
  • Wine withdrawals can only be ordered via email to info@winecellar.co.za.
  • Wine withdrawals are available Monday to Friday, from 8am to 5pm only.
  • Customers are required to enter into a binding agreement with Wine Cellar at the commencement of cellaring.
Wine Cellar offers the greatest wine region in the world en-primeur (as futures). 2015 will be our 15th Bordeaux campaign and will be offered from April 2016 onwards for delivery in 2018.

Wine Cellar imports fine wine from Europe, offers antipodean wines, fine local wines as well as brokers your fine wine. We also focus on selling wines en-primeur (as futures) from Bordeaux, Burgundy and the Rhône.
We offer tastings in Johannesburg and Cape Town; from comparative tastings for private and corporate groups to tastings of our latest imports for the public. We also offer luxury dinners paired with rare wines.
Professional cellaring of single bottles for private clients through to pallet loads for trade clients. Wines are stored at 14 degrees in our secure underground cellars in Observatory, Cape Town.
