Notes
83% Sauvignon Blanc and 17% Semillon
'Vibrant, vivid and fresh with beautiful layers of tangerine, white blossom, tropical fruit and laced with a soft hint of herb. Silky smooth on the palate, filled with lime blossom, grenadilla, a cool, flinty mineral thread and braced with a racy acidity.' – Decanter World Wine Awards, 95/100 (Gold)
'The 2015 Isliedh Sauvignon Blanc comes from vines located towards the top of the estate, mainly on windswept granite soils. It is a blend of 83% Sauvignon Blanc and 17% Semillon, matured in 40% new French oak barrels for ten months. This has an earthier bouquet compared to the Reserve Sauvignon Blanc, cold stone and flinty notes merging with dew-dappled Granny Smith apples and freshly sliced pear. The palate is very well balanced with fine acidity, that flintiness surfacing once again, coupled with sea spray and oyster shell aromas. The persistence in the mouth is very impressive, the saline finish urging you back for one more sip.' – Neal Martin, 93/100
'I tasted this recently, alongside some other top-end SA Bordeaux styled white blends, and the Isliedh 2015, Duncan's last vintage, stood out. It's an emphatic wine of great style with poised fruit and finesse to very end. This is one of the best in class from a very small vintage but of immense quality. There is stunning concentration of fruit with refinement and depth - Duncan's hallmarks - and one of his very best.' – James Pietersen (May 2017)
