Notes

Viticulture:
Traditional and entirely manual methods are used to cultivate the vines. No systematic treatment, pesticides are used with moderation and only as and when required. Yield control is July/August with a green harvest and thinning out the leaves. 100 % of the grapes are picked off the stems. Fermentation is in stainless steel vats between 15 days and 3 weeks with temperature control. Maturing is 12 months in barrels in an air conditioned wine storehouse. Temperature and hygrometry control.

Vinifcation:
Soil type is light, sandy and granitic. Exposure is south/south east facing terraces. Average age of vines is 25 years. Yield is about 37 hectolitres/hectare. Grape variety: Syrah (single variety).

Tasting notes:
'Still in barrel, the 2014 St Joseph is a spicy, elegant and floral St Joseph that offers medium-bodied richness, a light, easy going texture and an overriding quaffable feel. It should drink nicely for 4-5 years. The tiny estate of André Perret continues to be one of my go-to estates for incredible Condrieu. While the Clos Chanson and Coteau du Chery are made in tiny quantities, don’t miss his classic Condrieu -- it’s much easier to find in the market place and is a terrific bottle of wine.' – The Wine Advocate, 90-92/100
