How does en-primeur work?

Each year, journalists and critics descend on Bordeaux to taste barrel samples of the previous year's harvest. After the annual EP tastings, the chateaux gradually release their opening prices. This process generally begins in April and can last until the end of June (though the length of the campaign varies each year). To order, email Roland@winecellar.co.za.
